How Tihmstar’s Tweet Shifted Back all the Focus to iOS 11?
The fact is that Apple is pumping through the iOS 12 updates and the whole focus of the jailbreak community is on iOS 12 platform. Groping for a knight in shining armor to take a step forward and release something striking that supports the iOS 12 devices.
While on the other hand, a well-known hacker and developer Tihmstar has shifted back all the eyes and turned many heads when he took to social world to announce that he is working on an exploit for iOS firmware up to 11.4.1.
Till date, we have seen many promises for iOS 11.4.1 jailbreak, but nothing had overly concrete in terms of a potential release into the community. But the tweet by Tihmstar made many get back to the hedge of jailbreak possibility.

iOS 11.4.1 Jailbreak – The Tweet that made the Promising news!
Double3lix developer Tihmstar was able to achieve the read privileges to the kernel and a day later after tinkering with the exploit, this German hacker managed to gain root access as well.
But here’s a troublemaker! The hacker tweeted “btw exploit is in the works, which can work up to 11.4.1 already got kernel read, dunno if I can be bothered to find offsets for anything but iPhone6,2/11.2.6 though, or make the exploit work on phones without headphone jack ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”.
This means Tihmstar is unable to make his exploit compatible with the devices without headphone jack (which basically are iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus).
Got kernel base 😀
But as you can see, this exploit relies on a headphone jack ._. pic.twitter.com/ZvTAlJ5Jph— tihmstar (@tihmstar) January 10, 2019
The hacker kept social media updated with his progress on the exploit and confirmed that iOS 11.4.1 jailbreak may soon be available. The hacker tweeted that he managed to get the Kernel base and also proves that the exploit relies on the existence of headphone jack.
Well, we can see the work is currently on a long stretch away from resulting in something that could be made available to public or that could turn into a jailbreak. The developers need to achieve the ability to write to the kernel and also settle and commit on a defacto route forward in terms of fore mentioned limitations and challenges. Final Thoughts – iOS 11.4.1 Jailbreak Tihmstar Update
We can see a high probability that the hacker will first try to release a g0blin Jailbreak clone for iOS 11.4.x and this seems to likely be achieved by using Luca Todesco’s Yalu 102 KPP bypass, developed for iOS 11 originally and it still remains compatible with iOS 11.
Stay tuned to get further details of the progress about iOS 11.4.1 jailbreak.
