Generally, iOS users tend to jailbreak their iOS device if they wish to unlock the maximum potential of their phone. Depending upon the iOS version, there are several jailbreak tools available in the relative market like Electra, UnC0ver, and the latest one being Checkra1n. Post a successful jailbreak, you need a package manager for the installation of tweaks. Undoubtedly, Cydia, as a jailbreak package manager, enjoys immense popularity. However, apart from Cydia, we have Sileo, Saily, and now we have Zebra (formerly AUPM); a package manager for jailbroken iOS devices.

The backbone that gives Zebra its strength is based on speed and efficiency. The coolest part is that unlike Sileo, you don’t require uninstalling Cydia for the smooth and effective functioning of Zebra. The stable V 1.0 release of Zebra did have a few bugs and the developer acknowledged the same at the time of the release. Next, with V 1.1 a majority of the bugs were fixed and new features were added. Thereafter, we had releases 1.1.26 and 1.1.28.

Zebra V 1.1.28 – Fixes Crashing Issue on V 1.1.27

Zebra 1.1.27, upon its release, started displaying crashing issues. Hence, to fix the crashing issues, the developer immediately followed up with a version 1.1.28. The following are the features that are a part of this latest iteration of Zebra package manager.

  • Improved support for payment vendors. Includes support for payment vendors on iOS 9 and iOS 10 as well. This is the first time that payment vendor functionality is available on a modern package manager for legacy iOS versions viz iOS 9 and 10.

  • Error reporting feature automatically sends information on crashes, if any, to the Zebra support team.

Zebra V 1.1.26 – Copy Device Info & Bug Fixes

The latest Zebra v 1.1.26 is out with a feature that allows you to copy the device info from Zebra’s home page. The Zebra team is on the roll as we have the latest Zebra v 1.1.24 available now with improved security and performance-related enhancements. The following is the changelog for the same.

  • Just like other package managers like Cydia and Sileo, Zebra does not send the UDID (Unique Device Identifier) when loading depictions. Payment Provider API will work for the owners of the repositories.

  • Improved rendering of the release notes on Zebra changelog screen.
  • Crashing issue on installing/removing packages fixed.
  • Error while changing the app icon settings on iPads fixed.
  • Crashing issue when tapping on the author’s name present on the package detail screen fixed on iPads.

Check How Many Packages are Installed Per Repo for Zebra [Zenumbra]

It will be great if you could see a count showing the number of installed packages besides each repository in sources tab for Zebra. Multiple users have requested for the same. Good news is that the tweak Zenumbra released by foxfortmobile for Zebra package manager accomplishes the same.

zenumbra-zebra-tweak-tweaks-count-repo

Compatible with Zebra package manager V 1.1.0 or above, Zenumbra tweak shows how many tweaks are installed from each repo on the sources page. This could easily help you identify which repos you don’t use and thus get rid of them.

For those who wish to download the Zenumbra tweak can do so from The Fox Fort Repo. The tweak supports A12/A13 devices and is completely free to use.

Final Words – Zebra Package Manager – Cydia Alternative on iOS
